FOOTNOTE is a creative platform for contemporary visual arts located near Dok Noord in Ghent, Belgium. Our aim is to create an open environment where art enthusiasts, graphic designers, architects, collectors, and people from the neighborhood can meet, connect, and engage in dialogue.

FOOTNOTE GALLERY
Founded by contemporary visual artists, FOOTNOTE GALLERY is at the core of our project. We present exhibitions by local and international artists from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of their careers—from students and emerging artists to established practitioners. By bringing together a wide range of artistic voices, we aim to foster exchange, experimentation, and accessibility within the contemporary art scene.

FOOTNOTE ART BOOKSTORE offers a carefully curated selection of contemporary art books, zines, architecture, and graphic design publications. We also publish the FOOTNOTE Zines: a series that provides artists with a freely accessible printed platform for experimental projects. Each edition is produced in a limited run of 100 copies, making every publication both accessible and collectible.

The FOOTNOTE BAR is the heart of our organization—a welcoming place to meet friends, discover new ideas, or simply enjoy some time on your own. Our bookstore is integrated into the bar and is open during the bar's regular opening hours. From September 2026 onwards, we are excited to welcome TDS Coffee to our bar. They will serve specialty coffee alongside a selection of freshly baked treats, adding another reason to visit and stay awhile.
